Allow use of session variables in dataset role-based filters
Allowing the use of RPD session variable values in a dataset role-based filter would be a huge step in security for our instance of OAC.
Currently, we have row-level security on RPD subject areas that allows a user to only see HR/payroll data for departments they are authorized to see in our PeopleSoft HMS instance. This works great for subject areas, but for data flow created dataset based reports, we have to manually add filters to each workbook we create to filter based on these permissions and session variable values.
Having that built into a dataset would increase confidence in the security of data and allow further use of data flows and dataset based reporting for HR data.

Excellent idea.

I think an alternative approach to this could involve propagating RPD security through a data flow to output datasets. I will connect with @Luis E. Rivas -Oracle to discuss this further. I agree that this is an important feature.

@GabriellePrichard-Oracle would something like that be possible now? If so, I'd love to hear more about how to implement that. Making sure our security is right is currently our biggest hurdle to delivering more DV based reports.

@Greg Holland Unfortunately, this is not currently possible.
