DV Search capability for columns when building a workbook directly from a subject area

Currently when you start a workbook and you select a subject area instead of an existing data set you are given the ability to directly use the subject area. However you can not use the search bar to find any columns that are within the subject area that you are using. If you created any calculations then you are able to find them but not in a subject area. If the subject area is large and the user is not familiar with it this can be painful.

I thought this might have been an issue with our current install but I have tried this in OAS 2023 and again in 2024 and the behavior is the same.

Would be an extremely helpful add for users.

Search for columns in a workbook should be working today. If there is an issue seeing this -- an SR should be created.

  • Did you check the index settings for this SA? If the index is set up correctly, it sounds like an issue; please open an SR.

The Subject areas are set to Index Metadata Only and run every day. Is there a separate setting for DV?

This setting seems to work fine in classic

  • It is the same setting. Seems to work fine on the instances I tested. I suggest contacting support to troubleshoot your specific scenario.
