Problems with oracle analytics desktop: not loading

Hello,

I'm having trouble opening oracle analytics desktop. Until a couple of hours ago I was creating workbooks, but now I can't open the program. Load up to half the bar and it doesn't open. I tried restarting/shutdown the PC but to no avail. Can anyone help me? also to recover the workbooks created inside?

  • You will lose the workbooks in this way. We cannot recover them.

    As a last try, you can try the below.

    Where can I find files to help me diagnose a technical issue?

    You can generate a diagnostic dump file to help resolve a specific issue. This file contains the following information:

    • Update information
    • Installer logs
    • Application component logs containing status information for Oracle Business Intelligence Presentation Server, Oracle Business Intelligence Server, and other critical components
    • Jetty logs
    • Data Security Standard (DSS) logs
    • Webcat metadata plugin logs
    • Derby logs
    • Server Administration Workbench (SAW) Server logs
    • Oracle Business Intelligence Presentation Server logs
    • Oracle Business Intelligence Server logs
    1. Open the command prompt and change the directory to the Oracle Analytics Desktop installation directory (for example, C:\Program Files\Oracle Analytics Desktop).
    2. Type diagnostic_dump.cmd and then provide a name for the .zip output file (for example, output.zip).
    3. You can find the diagnostic output .zip file in your installation directory.

    If this does not help, then you will have to uninstall and install again.

    Please try killing the process DVdesktop.exe and try opening it again.

    For OAD, you can collect a diagnostic bundle with logs and check through them.

    If not, please try reinstalling DV Desktop and choose repair. It will fix any corrupted files issue.

    hello,

    i tried all these options, but failed.

    Also reinstalling DV desktop isn't possible: when I try to open the file.exe nothing happens.

    sorry if I ask, what do you think can be the problem that cause this crash? I tried everything, but it doesn't open.

    hello, there is no error message. SImply the loading bar is stopped in the middle and the DV desktop doesn't open.

  • Apologies for the convenience. The only option, i think is uninstall the application, restart the machine and install it again.
