Have you seen the product guides (at least for OBIA)? OBIA 11g: BI Applications 11.1.1.10.x Product Guides (Doc ID 2068978.1)

Ok, I see what you mean. Thanks very much ... I think I have the idea now! Appreciate the explanations. Regards, Charles

Thanks Christian - always helpful to get some assistance along the way/while experimenting . I was getting the sense that it was something along those lines. It sounds like either one is a pretty good option (depending on the number of columns coming over). I did have a chance play around a little more in an offline…

Hi, In addition to the replies you have received (which I agree with), you should also consider/have them consider future upgrades. Stuff like this always comes back to bite you during an upgrade. It will take a bunch of time to figure why something isn't working ... then, after hours or days of digging around, someone…

Thanks. In the future, you can post OBIEE-specific questions here: For now ... how is this going?
-
aPsikus - Are you using Bi Apps, or OBIEE itself? This is the board for Bi Apps/OBIA. There is a separate discussion for OBIEE ... Charles
-
Good point, Christian. An important consideration. I'm probably used to having my hands-tied a bit more, as we are on Bi Apps . I suppose with OBIEE there is more ability to upgrade to components ...

Also ...you are on the 12.2.1.2 codeline. Only 12.2.1.2 bundle patches can be apply directly on top of that version (e.g. not 12.2.1.4 bundle patches). You need to upgrade your version to 12.2.1.4 for that. Since, bundle patches are cumulative, they contain are previous fixes plus the newly available ones. Therefore, you…

In addition to what Christian has stated, you should review these notes: OBIEE Suite Bundle Patches (Doc ID 1591422.1) Overview of Available Update Patches for Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise 12c (12.2.1.4) (Doc ID 2463289.1) OBIEE 12c: Required and Recommended Bundle Patches and Patch Sets For Oracle Business Intelligence…

Hi, Here's the definition of that error: 27001 End of input has been reached. Illegal syntax. Cause. An empty line or incomplete input was encountered. Response. Correct the illegal syntax and try the action again. Not that informative, unfortunately ... Have you done a consistency check on the RPD? Try to go through the…

Hi, Which version of the sample app? Did you do the install - if so, do you know where the logs are? You may need to check the log(s) to see exactly what kind of exception this is. Regards, Charles

Hi Rai, If you wanted to try something, and have a development instance that you could access, you could make some changes to that instanceconfig file to see if it makes a difference. I am not recommending that you do this. Simply offering a possibility. It is up to you and your client to determine if it is appropriate. I…

Thanks Rai. At this time, I am not sure what is causing this issue. If I come across anything, I will reply back. Regards, Charles
-
Excellent, glad it helped! Go ahead and keep this open if you want some more information from the community, otherwise feel free to mark the replies as helpful or correct to complete the thread. Regards, Charles

Hi Rai, Can you try one thing. Check you instanceconfig.xml and see what the value is for <DefaultWebImageType> in the Charts section of the file. Regards, Charles
-
Hi Rai, I am not able to do that here, since that is from the Oracle knowledge base ... and we are in a public forum. Can you see if there is anything in the presentation services (saw) logs? - - Just saw Robert Angel's update as I was typing this ... Charles
-
Thanks. Were you able to look at that note?

... possibly, this has been discussed already: https://community.oracle.com/message/14126996#14126996 https://community.oracle.com/thread/3994067

Hi ... does this note help you (or, clarify Oracle's position on this)? OBIEE 12c: How To Bind The OBIEE Components To A Specific Listen Address (Doc ID 2193508.1)

Thanks. Do you have a My Oracle Support account? You could take a look at this note: OBIEE 12c - Graph/Chart Display Issues Or Is Not Showing Correctly In Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) browser (Doc ID 2185996.1) But, it is not identical to your issue. Also, it is specific to IE 11. Which IE version are they using? Still,…
