@Manu R-Oracle You are not right. In metadata (RPD) you can define for physical table object frequency of cache purging (purging of BI Server cache entries, connected with this physical table). But I understand, that this is in majority of cases not what you want. Usually you want to purge BI Server cache entries, when…

You can use existing WebService API for "Classics" (OBIEE in past), which exactly offers what you need (it is available also within OAC service) - see documentation (iBotService Service): https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/12213/biee/BIEIT/methods.htm#BIEIT203

@Emily Cikovsky-Oracle Hi Emily, thanks for you answer, looking forward to have response from @Alan Lee - Oracle-Oracle or @Gabby Rubin-Oracle . What's new document (you are mentioning) is fine, but it is published just when new OAS released is out. This is a too late for us. I really want to avoid not pleasant surprises…

Complete lack of flexibility/support of Dev2Prod processes for DV objects represents the biggest weaknesses in DV. I am pointing to it for pretty long time - see for example: So I desperately hope, that improvements in this area will come very soon...
-
This discussion is quite funny (but not that much, to be honest): It is about finding/developing workarounds for something, which should be implemented in a product as such. Meaning correct tracking of DV logical queries in correct columns (designed for that purpose) - instead of trying to parse/decompose the correct…

@Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle Thanks for sharing the plans. This seems to be on a good way . Looking forward to see it in reality.

It's a shame, that team, implementing this "Personalization Options" in DV, was not inspired by Saved Selection feature in Classics - since this gives you exactly enough flexibility for consumers - just to list a few (I applied them to DV bellow): Consumer decides by its own, whether he wants to save his "customizations"…

@Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle Ok, got it. Yes, improvements in this area should be for admins/developers. Thus in BAR framework, as you mentioned. Thanks.
-
@Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle Definitely not. We need to have support for incremental deployment of just subset of DV objects (transfer between environments - usually Dev2Prod). BAR is not meant for that. This my perceptions based on the current status of BAR export/import. Or do you plan to make it incremental…

@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle HI Ben, glad to hear, that you evaluated this Idea excellent. It is more than 2 years old, so far without much attention by Product Mgmt/Development. So for me this is the sign, that you will take care of it, prioritize it and implement it soon (within thus year to have in next yearly release of OAS…
-
@Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle Bret, good to hear, that "you are looking at options". But what is a sad story is a fact, that this Idea has been created in June 2020 (so it is almost 3 years old) and so far there does not seem to be any solution implemented (not even planned in roadmap). I have summarized all…

@Philippe Lions-Oracle Hi Phillipe, I know, that this product area is probably not within your responsibility, but it is very, very overlooked by Product Mgtmt/Development (I am trying to stress this on many places, created several Ideas, contributing with discussions within other Ideas, but so far without any impact...).…
-
@Gabby Rubin-Oracle The explanation you have provided here make sense and I understand, that it is much more harder to explain/communicate concepts than just launching new features. But I am convinced that it should be done - ideally in a standard documentation set…
-
@Harriet Huang-Oracle KM document will be fine (as starting point), but inclusion into standard documentation and also Expression Editor should be the final "destination".
-
@Philippe Lions-Oracle Hi Philippe, function rowid() is very useful. Wouldn't be good to incorporate it to standard documentation (https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/bi/analytics-server/user-oas/expression-editor-reference.html) and also in Expression Editor (in list of available BI Server functions/expressions) ?…
-
@Gianni Ceresa You are right. It would be good if DV had a uniform naming convention, including the names of visualizations. Mixing names from “classic” certainly does not contribute to clarity. Definitely a cause for thought for Product Management.
-
@GabriellePrichard-Oracle And what about OAS - there is no REST API available at all. Is this in the roadmap ?
-
@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle No problem, I can create Idea for this.
-
@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle I've got one requirement - it is not a completelly new viz, but more imrovement of current vizualization "Dashboard Filters": We are missing here for date columns a new filter type, allowing you to select range (bottom/top values for between filter) using slider element (picking up 2 values) - see…

At our OAS environment (OAS 2023 - which corresponds to OAC January 2023 release), for stacked chart (when switching on displaying sum), I am seeing for one column in chart 2 sums: one for sum of positive numbers and one for negative numbers. So quite different results.... I would raise SR with Oracle support with clear…
