@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle The video from @Philippe Lions-Oracle is fine, but procedure described here has several "drawbacks" (compared to method used in "Classical" - filter based on result of another analysis): 1) It requires from author some "literacy" of logical SQL statements (which is not the case for all authors - this…

@Marcelo Finkielsztein I had some time ago conversation with @Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle and have passed him Excel (see attachment) with list of features, that are in Classics, but missing in DV and which (if intention is to slowly "transfer" existing OBIEE/OAS/OAC customers from Classics to DV) need to be in place in DV…

@Harriet Huang-Oracle I would call those rules rather than rules for creating data sets using manual SQL, rules for constructing SQL in general (executed via any mean - for example in SQL Developer or within PL/SQL code). I have one addition , which is really purely related to writing SQL for usage in Data Sets: Avoid…

There is no REST API for DV available in OAS - see my Idea: https://community.oracle.com/products/oracleanalytics/discussion/18832/api-for-programmatically-manipulating-dv-objects-data-visualization-and-automate-dv-tasks-in-oas

Understand.... We are on OAS with no immediate/mid-term plans to "move" to OAC, so I don't have experience with REST API available in OAC (but still hope, that REST API will be also available in OAS).
-
@Marcelo Finkielsztein Your idea is named "DV snapshot automation in OAS", so this presumes, that you request this functionality for OAS. But apparently you are speaking about OAC..... You can automate all the stuff in OAC using REST API I guess. Rgds Michal

@Marcelo Finkielsztein Hi Marcelo, we are still (on OAS 7.0) using exportarchive.sh for automate on regular basis BAR creation and it is working. What problem with exportarchive.sh do you have on your environment ? It is just because Oracle recommends using creation of BAR file through DV Console (in UI) ? Truth is, that…

@Marcelo Finkielsztein Interesting - my impression is, that since there is no effort directed towards extending/improving Classic, the direction is to slowly (not immediately) switch/replace Classics to DV. But apparently nobody from Analytics Product Mgmt is willing to say it directly to give customer clear "direction"…

Voting for this idea. In "classical" Dashboards this is very much used feature/option (to preserve values for filtering along with adjustments of analysis exposed on Dashboards( . Thus if DV should replace classical tools somewhere in the future, it is must have capability in DV.

Voting for this Idea. In "classical" Answers this it standart feature. Thus if DV should replace classical tools somewhere in the future, it must have this capability.

@AnandBadugu Then something is wrong in your environment (missing privileges/permissions or whatever). In Console -> Content, you should be able (as Administrator) to see all DV objects, including Connections (you can even filter the list by Object Type. This is how it works in our OAS 2023 environments.
-
@User_9C68L In OAS 7.0 you need (in DV UI) to navigate to Console -> Manage Content and here you can see it.
-
@User_9C68L I guess, that what is meant by "Delivered" status within this Idea , is functionality of "Manage content" in DV Console - where users with Admin privileges can see (as list) objects (workbooks, data sets, connections , data flows etc..). This is available since OAS 2023/7.0. The main purpose for this "Manage…

@Anis Benromdhane Hi Anis, your freshly created Idea is duplicate to this one: I have created 2 years ago (so far without Product Mgmt attention - thus still in Submitted status). So pls, for synergy, drop your Idea and give vote to this original Idea. Thanks Michal

@Adam Bloom-Oracle Hi Adam, yes, this has been conclusion of SR 3-32405686561 : OAS 6.4 Spaces in application role name I opened with Oracle support, which resulted into ER 35419126. So I hope, that OPSS team will soon update documentation to drive the change of implementation in DV console. Thanks Michal
-
@User_3YQO6 I will save your time for creating SR. I actually did the same recently (after performing in-place upgrade of our OAS environments to 2023/7.0 release and realized that all preview features from OAC are not included into this OAS release) and received following response from Product Development: "The concept of…

Yep without hierarchies, no time-series calculations (todate, ago) possible.... Voting for this idea - even for data sets this should be possible (not just for semantic model).
-
Yes, Object Id comprises from namespace (which is User Id who either created DV object or in case of Import imported DV object) - so we both mean the same - Object Id = <<Namespace>>.<<Object Name>>
-
@Subhakara Netala-Oracle At least (if you have admin privileges on your OAC instance) you can reassign ownership of DV objects (data set, connection, workbook) to other user (after you have imported on target environment) via DV console - Manage content. But this is just for changing owner, you cannot change the namespace…
