Alternative to Publishing or Emailing Scheduled Reports

Hi all,

Since Service Cloud does not provide method to perform batch jobs, we have created a report  containing a script  and scheduling it to run nightly. Since the sole purpose of this report is to perform the operations contained in the script, it is not necessary for this report to be attached/emailed to anyone. We've been publishing the report instead, but noticed there is no direct way to automatically delete the older published reports and they are now beginning to take up file space. Is there a way to schedule a report to run, but not publish or email it?
