Matrix Manager - Goals - Accessing screens

I have created a new manager type of Matrix Manager and a new custom role that gives access to Goals and Performance for anybody with a Manager type of Matrix Manager.   I have added a user as a matrix manager and allocated them the new custom matrix manager role.

 

1.  In the scenario where a Matrix Manager already has a Line Manager role, I expected the privileges to aggregate, which they do to an extent.  However, given the Goals / Performance screens only show Direct Reports, am I correct in thinking that in order for a Matrix Manager to transact on one of the indirect reports that they will have to search for the person within these screens?   Is there any way we can show the indirects in this screen to make it easier for a Matrix Manager or have I missed something?
