Is there another option for processing customer merge other than Customer data Management.

Summary:

The client requesting to merge their AR customer. Tried multiple times merging the customer and as the result I was not able to merge it successfully. I research some documents about merging customer and found this ref: How to Merge Customer Data within Receivables. I followed the steps and still not able to merge it. I've read the logs and I cannot find something to troubleshoot. Do you have a correct steps process on how to merge AR customer accounts except in Customer Data Management screen?
