Maintain Meta Model and Index

Hi,

We have a Maintain Meta Model and Index process in error in scheduled processes. This was scheduled by someone who is now a leaver, so may be the reason for the error.

Please could you let me know what the Maintain Meta Model and Index process does? And is it required to run frequently?
