SmartAssist deflection not captured

Smart assist is working on our site. We are seeing Ask A Question rates drop. But we don't know if this is happening because SmartAssist helped deflect a question, or if the user decided not to ask a question and quit. There is nothing in the clickstream to show SmartAssist button clicks.

We're making some fuzzy inferences around ask a question and exit rates, but we'd really like to know if they clicked on some smart assist answers and then closed the SmartAssist.

How do I track SmartAssist button clicks?
