Phone search field with or without hyphens

Many of our contact phone number have hyphens and more do not. I cannot find a solution for agent to search for a contact by phone number without them needing to search both ways... once without a hyphen and again with. Is there a way for them to search without hyphens and have the report search for both? We use contact.any_phone and have tried contact.any_phone_raw as well. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
