Redwood Benefits – Change Beneficiaries Quick Action Not Working Without Life Event

edited Oct 2, 2025 11:13AM in Benefits 1 comment

Hello all,

We are testing Redwood Benefits Self-Service and noticed an issue with the Change Beneficiaries quick action.

Problem: When we go into Change Beneficiaries from quick actions, the page just shows:

“There aren't any applicable enrollments to change beneficiaries using this page. Use the benefits page instead to check for enrollment opportunities.”

  • This happens when no life event is open.
  • Business expectation: Employees should still be able to update beneficiaries without having to trigger a life event (e.g., for existing plans that allow beneficiary updates anytime).

Questions:

  1. Is this expected Redwood behaviour (i.e., beneficiary changes must be tied to a life event)?

Howdy, Stranger!
