Gaps in Job Levels and their effect on Job Level Approvals
Customer has job level approvals setup based on the amount of the requisition:
Job level 1 = 0-100000
Job level 2 = 100000-250000
Job level 3 = 250000-500000
Job level 4 = 500000-1000000
Job level 5 = 1000000-2500000
Job level 6 = 2500000-5000000
Job level 7 = >5000000
currently the hierarchy setup has some gaps in the job levels (for instance Job level 6 can be a direct manager to a job level 3 with no job levels inbetween), and the requisition approvals on job levels are required for every relevant approver up until the min job level was found, to approve the requisition before it can move on to the next job level approver.
There are a few requisition transactions that are failing approvals after a job level 3 person, was changed to a job level 7 person, however their reporting structure remained the same (i.e. his direct reportees are still job level 2s with a gap in the hierarchy to job level 7) - would this make a difference in the approval workflow?
