How to bind oj-select-single template in Dynamic Layout to show auto-populated values

I am working on an extension in Visual Builder Studio (VBS) for Redwood Oracle Fusion Service (Work Orders / Service Requests).
Business Requirement:
I need my custom Project and Task fields to behave dynamically based on how the Work Order (WO) is created:
- Creation from an SR Subtab: When a user creates a WO from an existing Service Request, the Project and Task fields must automatically display the values pre-populated from the parent SR. However, if the user wants to alter them before saving, they must be able to change them using a dropdown menu.
- Direct Creation: When a user creates a WO directly (not from an SR), the fields should load blank, and the user must manually select the Project and Task from the dropdown menus.
