Re: Release Management RLM - 862 DELJIT - Update Order Line
Hello
In standard Oracle RLM, changing the customer item cross-reference from X to Y will not make the existing open sales order lines for X turn into Y through the interface tables alone. The Demand Processor loads schedules into the RLM interface tables and reconciles them against existing demand, but its matching logic uses mandatory attributes including Customer Item and Inventory Item. When those key attributes do not match, the new demand line is treated as a new requirement record, not an update to the old line.
Oracle also states that whether an incoming change/replacement can update an existing sales order line depends on the line’s workflow status, the schedule type, and Order Management processing constraints. If the change cannot be applied, Oracle raises warning exceptions and manual intervention is needed.
So the practical answer is:
- Use the inbound 862 so that the customer item A resolves to the new internal item Y by activating the new cross-reference and deactivating X. Oracle Inventory supports updating and deactivating customer item cross references, and Release Management uses preference ranking/cross references for the item mapping.
If the trading partner’s inbound purpose code means a replacement, map that external code to internal Replacement through the RLM code conversion for RLM_TRX_PURP; Oracle explicitly documents this use case.
- Even then, RLM interface loading alone will not reliably change open OM lines from X to Y if the item itself changes, because inventory item is part of the matching logic and a mismatch becomes a new record.
If the business truly needs “take open line X and change it to Y,” the supported path is to update the existing Oracle Order Management line, not to rely on the RLM interface tables to do the item swap. Oracle Order Import supports changes to existing orders/lines through the open interface using OPERATION_CODE = UPDATE, and the line can then be changed subject to processing constraints.
So the answer is: you generally cannot achieve this by only populating the RLM interface tables. Standard RLM will usually create a new Y line. To get the old X line replaced by Y, you need a custom OM update/reconciliation step keyed to the existing open order line, or a controlled change process that updates the OM line directly after the schedule is received.

Re: Flashback a PDB in a data guard environment
Thank you, Arsalan! I was able to salvage this standby with "RESTORE PLUGGABLE DATABASE <name> FROM SERVICE <primary_tns_alias>".
I think your statement "If your standby is open in read-only mode (Active Data Guard), you must fully shut it down and restart it in MOUNT mode (SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE; STARTUP MOUNT;) before restarting MRP" is important. Indeed we were running Active Data Guard. Earlier, after my primary was flashed back, I tried "alter database recover managed standby database" on the standby just to see if it worked, and of course it didn't. Subsequent shutdown and startup mount and recovery failed, and I had to run the RMAN command to restore PDB as you suggested.
I just tested again. After the primary was flashed back, I shutdown (without trying to recover) and startup mount on the standby. Recovery worked as expected.
Re: Qty doesn't update automatically if only the amount is modified during PO receipt for non stock
Hi Mahesh
Thank you for the feedback , I will raise SR with details
However , can you please confirm the standard JDE behavior , if during PO receipt for non-stock, if I change the extended amount only , will it auto update the quantity accordingly?
Re: ERP R12.2
Hi @Nattuturai ,
To my knowledge admsi.pl is just a perl script to run a Patch Application Assistant which will generate manual step by step instructions of pre/post patching steps. You would still use adop to physically apply the patch as you have stated above.
Would be ran like the below:
perl $AD_TOP/bin/admsi.pl -patch_top=<patch_directory> -appspass=<apps_password>
Kind Regards,
Rob

Re: Activity codes not transferring when copying project
David,
Thank you for your response. Here is some additional information on our issue:
*Yes - the codes checkbox is checked.
*We know they are not copying because the project will have a FEW lines of activity codes, but the remainder of the project has no codes. (ie. first 100 lines of codes are there, the remaining 7,000 lines are blank)
*We all definitely have the same access rights, otherwise we would get warnings that we do not have permission

Re: how to restore pbd from backup full into another CDB
Hello,
In Oracle 19c, a pluggable database cannot be directly duplicated from backup pieces into an already existing target CDB. Therefore, you need to provision a temporary auxiliary CDB on the target server, restore and recover the PROD database into this staging container, and subsequently unplug and plug it into your destination CHML environment as HML.
Cheers

Re: Void a check for an involuntary deduction and reissue a new check to the company
Hello,
Nicole here, I have searched internally with your corporate email and I couldn't find any SR raised, hence I cannot identify the product used. :(
So to help you, I can show what the login page for the HCM PeopleSoft Application looks like:
If you use Fusion Cloud applications, your logging page will look like this:
Please check and confirm which is the log in page used.
