I have found the following for you. Oracle supports the feature of generating the request xml's in the Vendor specified format. Following are the steps to be followed to generate xml's in Vendor format.
1. Create XSL as per third party Vendor requirement and place it under the directory $WSH_TOP/html.
2. Insert a record into WSH_ITM_VENDOR_STYLESHEETS, providing SERVICE_TYPE,SERVICE_PROVIDER(ITM Vendor),VENDOR_SERVICE_ID and the newly created XSL names (Request & Response).
3. when ITM adapter is ACTIVE, it creates CC_Req_.xml file under the / directory, which will be in Vendor's required format.
If the response is sent in third party Vendor format, please specify if the response is SYNC. or ASYNC ?
1. If the response is SYNC. then Response XSL has to be created in such a way that the 3rd party sent responses should be properly transformed to Oracle and the Response XSL name has to be specified in the inserted record that is created in the step2 above.
2. If the response is in ASYNC. mode then before sending the response xml's, they should be formatted as per Oracle, in the middle-tier (where exactly the reponse xml's wille be posted back to oracle) itself.

I am not aware of any hard limit of 100 records for the ucm workflow.
There may be a practical limit anyway and testing is important to find the optimal values.
Please also keep in mind ODI and UCM speeds of processing are not really comparable.
ODI tends to focus on moving data really fast due to simple (or none) processing on the data it is working on.
UCM does a lot of complex processing( survivorship, deduplication, matching, etc) and is likely slower than ODI.
As to alternatives, the more of that complex processing is done outside of UCM, the faster the UCM load is , just because you can turn it all off in UCM.
e.g: if you can confidently deduplicate your data before loading, then in theory you can turn that off while running the UCM workflow. Less work, faster load.
But it just moves the work to somewhere else.
Sometimes it still makes sense, such as if you have the data sitting somewhere for a long time before it is sent to be loaded in UCM.
Figuring all that out is case by case, and you seem to be on the right track by actually testing and measuring the results.

After searching we found the ones that were over 255 were truncated after the COM so it looked to the system like a good email. The limit is 255. Yes we are using a variable

JDE E1 9.2 - how to close unmatched purchase order receipts in F43121
The client has not used voucher match to close out PO Receipts but has used standalone vouchers to pay the suppliers. The vouchers are not logged so that Redistribute to PO is not an option either. The old closed purchase orders only have Match Type 1 records in the F43121 and no Match Type 2. Is there a way to close the F43121 without creating duplicate vouchers in the Supplier Ledger? I have found the suggestion to set the voucher amount to zero when matching the old open receipts, but this would create voucher match variance bookings.

The solution posted below worked and I can now end date the responsabilities.
1. Run the request "Synchronize WF LOCAL tables".
2. Run the request "Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation" Parameters : 100000, Yes, No, No
