  • If you use employee billing classes there is no quantity pricing on service items (because those would conflict). Thanks, -e I just looked at two of my clients. One has the quantities the other does not. The one that does not has the 'Per-employee billing rates' feature checked. The one that has quantities does not have…
  • Steve, The one thing you are not mentioning is how long you have been doing this. What kind of volume is involved- this CAN be done, but it may be rather messy, if not done carefully and meticulously. Not much at all. These are high-end product sales so we're talking about 20 or less.
  • Old thread, resurrected... I just performed some imports of inventory items for a client. A handful (small amount, maybe 5 or 10) were realized after the fact to be items with serial numbers. Oops, they got imported as normal Inventory Items. The quantities of these items varies from a few to many but they have no…
  • Not sure if I should start a new thread or continue this but we have been experimenting with different ways to display and track inventory, non-inventory, etc. I'm sure many others have similar designs (I hope). We have inventory part numbers for components, sometimes the finished good, but because our price list…
  • It appears serial numbers remain until the point the order is shipped. Meaning all serial numbers display as available for selection, however when used will come up in your order as not available in cases where the item serial number has been allocated to an order that has not shipped. Brian Ooo that's not good. In our…
  • I think we figured it out. Looks like it will work using Locations but need to test it thorough a few scenarios to be sure. Your CFO is still incorrect :-). I guess we'll agree to disagree on that one.... Likely my inability to explain in enough understandable detail... Thanks. -Steve
  • I hope this helps the community somewhat? I have inquired through NS, and seems I have more information than they did. I have also shared the same information to NS. Helps alot. Wish we had more of this on the community since I feel there is way to much trial and error in getting NetSuite to work the way the business needs…
  • My workaround at the present time is to use a serialized assembly, which allows you to attach serialized inventory (along with non-inventory and regular inventory or assembly items). The only issue I can see is that the serial number tracked is of the assembly not the serialized sub-item but we solve that by copying the…
  • Actually the process is pretty solid and the CFO is correct in what he needs/wants to do. It's likely in the way I explained... OK, let's go to basics. There are two steps in the sales process for simplistic sake. First a customer wants to try out the product, so we give them the product to trial in their environment. A…
  • There must be something that I am doing different to most others as we don't enter the Serial No, until the fulfillment and the serial number always appears on the invoice. The only thing I can think of is that we always press the 'bill' button that appears on the 'Item Fulfullment' page (and we don't use pick, pack and…
  • I have been most irritated by the inability to have serialised items included in a kit. Richard Argh... I just "discovered" this as I tried to do the same - create a kit that includes a serialized inventory. Then I read this thread. Wow, NetSuite monitors - tell your marketing and sales to take this off your…
  • RESOLVED. Used a formula search and it worked using a regular expression (spaces are popped into the regular expression by this forum app, not me): var f = []; var find = 'REGEXP_INSTR({custitem_myfield},\PROPERTY1\"\:\{\"show\":true\',1,1,0,\'im\')'; f.push(new nlobjSearchFilter('formulanumeric',null,'greaterthan','0'));…
  • So basically, I guess from the help pages, "Records Ordered" provides absolutely no benefit to anything other than listing something for view in UI? I can drag them around in the list but at the end of the day -- useless. We should be able to do a column sort based on the ordered preference (or it should be the default…
  • I'm also running into limitations on the filtering of custom list/record fields that being able to apply a saved search would solve as well (e.g. under the Sourcing & Filtering tab). For example, you create a custom field and select List/Record and Record Type, then skip over the sourcing stuff and then in the filtering…
  • Steve, I believe in 2009.2 there is a new officially sanctioned method they added where you can manipulate the entries in a drop-down list. If not, you could certainly go unsanctioned and just modify the drop down entires thru the DOM using Javascript Hi Nick, Yes the 2009.2 additions look to add simple filtering like…
  • I believe you can only use OR in a single search filters such as: var filters = new Array(); filters[0] = new nlobjSearchFilter( 'internalid', null, 'anyOf', [1,2,3] ); Otherwise, by default it uses AND operation. We also have an existing enhancement request 157062 - Ability to create/add a Search Filters in suitescript…
  • So, you are trying to do filtering within a custom field, correct? I want to make sure I have this right. If you are indeed using sourcing & filtering in the custom field, you need a second field on which to filter. If you are open to scripting, the easiest solution would be to have a checkbox on each license ("renewed" or…
  • Files/documents are not a supported scriptable type (yet). Having said that, there are a number of options available to you as of version 2007.0.5. If you do a lookup on a document custom field and specify that you want the display names you will get the name of the document custom field. Doing the same thing for an image…
  • What specifically are you trying to do? Sounds like a potential enhancement. I actually have a couple of scenarios. 1) Solutions. Our support group wants to create product bulletins that can be a knowledge base but need to include screenshots and other images. Since the images change constantly and the support folks are…
  • It's not a scriptable type in the sense that you can apply script events to (e.g. recognize when a file has been changed/added to the file cabinet -- which would be oh so very, very, very nice to have). It is a searchable type but to get the record type and available fields, you need to view the Web Services record types…
  • We'll add search by role in the next maintenance release in February. There already is a group search field in employee search. What is beign asked for beyond this? Thanks, -e Hi Evan, this is great. However, for my capability (create a dynamic search group based on this search by role and then apply this group in support…
  • Why would you create different roles for this? Do staff switch interfaces from time to time? I think a custom field and list is the way to go. Mark I thought about creating a custom field (which it looks like I need to do anyhow). Just thought "roles" was an appropriate use of the system since I can have HR assign roles at…
  • To further explain. I want to be able to assign employees certain roles for support such as Tier1 Support, Tier2 Support, and so on, similar to the Sales Rep role field but able to assign more than one role. The I want to be able to save a search to find all employees who are Tier1 Support, Tier2, etc and put each of these…
  • Agreed, but mine's a little different. We are using configuration parameters (our own single custom record that holds runtime preferences) to dictate who or what can be shown (for example, if this order is associated with Partner A, lookup Partner A's configuration and display fields accordingly, Partner B might be…
  • I thought I tried every conceivable option but will give it a go... Thanks.
  • there used to be something on the customise transaction form field called "store form with record" or something like that. Yes, but as far as I can remember, never for transaction forms (always thought that was wierd). -Steve
  • However, I tried setting this to an empty string. I will try null and see if this gets treated differently. Nope. Throws an error - "Missing required value for mandatory field: customform" As far as I can tell, there is no way to change the transaction form in beforeSubmit. Would really love to hear from Yang and company…
  • Steve, first thing, is that not all tran types are exposed in WS. So you can't WS 100% of txns. I think this is it: nlapiSetFieldValue(fldnam, value, firefieldchanged, synchronous) The fieldname is called "customform" I think if that is null, then it uses the preferred form. If you set an actual value, then that actual…
  • Actually the testdrive workflow sequence on the NetSuite portal does not require two browser windows. Clicking on the testdrive link takes you to an online form built using a custom HTML template similar to the templates used to build the portal. Once you submit the online form you are redirected back to the portal.…
