Catalog Drag and Drop Object Move Confirmation

Description
Need to have alert/confirmation window pop when drag and dropping catalog items (e.g., folders, reports, projects, prompts...) from current location to another.
Use Case and Business Need
When you drag and drop a folder, for example, in the catalog, there should be a window that confirms you want to move the object to the new location.
This will prevent those with modify permissions (content authors) from accidentally moving folders, etc. into another location breaking user access to reporting.
More details
We've been using OBIEE/Oracle Analytics for 8 years, and with so many users managing content, folders have been mistakenly dragged into another folder numerous times over the years. If people aren't paying close attention, it's pretty easy to do this without even knowing it. All of that content now has a new path and breaks all current links people (or dashboards/analyses) have to those reports/dashboards, etc.
It's basically like the reporting was deleted (until the new location is found and it's moved back). I believe folder permissions are reset on doing this to inherit the new parent folder's permissions which introduces security concerns.

Good idea. Definitely need this feature.

Another option would be to add another permission like 'Move' and remove the ability to move when given 'Write' rights to the folder. We would like a solution to this as well. A confirmation dialog would help in this effort if my suggestion is not an option.

Loosing access to reporting when a folder is moved inadvertently has a significant impact on customers. Please review this request to include this functionality in the product.

Yes, review of this would be great. It seems like it wouldn't be an overly heavy lift and could prevent some accidental catastrophic loss of reporting. I submitted this 2.5 years ago. It would be good to have this on the roadmap.

Multiple ideas open for this issue for years, solution to stop accidental drag and drop and subsequent permissions changes is very badly needed

This is causing MAJOR issues for our business - when the bug was discovered that meant that all users needed BI Admin access (in 22D) - oracle's workaround. Being able to move reports\folders\data models without any confirmation was a major security issue.
If there's another Oracle bug that requires us to give that level of access again, without any controls in place will open our business up to major issues.
Also, when integrating with external systems BI Admin access is the only way that we've been able to connect data successfully.
if this was in place we wouldn't have to do a complete Archive of our OTBI system every night in case something goes missing

Not having confirmation for this action can cause significant impacts. Links to reports will break and processes which rely on data from reports can cease to function if a folder or file is moved unintentionally.
A confirmation prompt would prevent accidental changes.
The ability to audit and roll back changes would also be amazing, however, would settle for this first! :)

I will appreciate if the alert/confirmation also can be configured in [System Settings] and [User Settings], as a switch on/off.
i.e.: [User Setting] overrides [System Setting]
Thanks.
p.s.: i am afraid the alert might only bother "mature" users, while "uneducated" users will just go ahead and accept it, only to realize (LATE) they made a mistake anyway. But this is only an impression. Hopefully, the alert will stop at least SOME of the problems.

Number of ideas open with votes, really need these merged as it is clearly a very much needed solution. Accidental drag and drop with subsequent permissions changes needs to be managed but no option in system to control as of now.
Here are some identical ideas from just a quick search, all with couple of votes but they all add up to highlight the necessity. How could we get these merged to bring the requirement forward?

...and the list keeps going....
Also would ask those here to upvote related ideas to have auditing on folder changes:
