I've tried using the suggestions posted by @User_86LUC and I've gotten BI Publisher to load exactly once.

Unfortunately, every subsequent load of Word produces the same behaviour as before. Reg entries are all in place and even deleting LoadCount from Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\AddinsData\TBAddin64 after Word crashes does not help.

@A.lee Yes everytime you reopen, Load count will be created, Delete Load count and open blank MS Word , Do not open any existing RTF template as your first word document

You can try setting up , Loadcount value as 2

    Hi @User_86LUC,

I have reset the registry Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\AddinsData\WordAddinPH.FpcWordAddin\LoadCount value to 2c.

    My issue is resolved.

    Thanks.

So far I've tried every registry solution mentioned and it seems random if they work yes or no. They have one thing in common, it will only be active once. Same issue starts over after closing Word and restarting.

@User_TPGJW This is quick fix for the issue, every time you reopen work , you have delete loadcount variable.

Oracle had us revert our office version back to the July 09 Version 2406 (Build 17726.20160). And we turned off Office updates as a temp fix until Bug 36947834 is available as a fix for this add in issue.

Latest MS O365 update caused the issue. I disabled the auto update of office and applied the below steps to revert back to July patch of office and issue got resolved.

    1. Open office.
    2. File, Office Account, Update Options and click on Disable Updates.
    3. Start typing cmd on the Start screen in the task bar search field to find the Command Prompt then click Run as Administrator
    4. "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17726.20160
    5. Start an Office application

    Thanks,

I too am running into this issue since the beginning of the month. I can't make changes to our BI Publisher reports at the moment because of this. Hopefully a fix will come out soon.

From "E-BIP/OAP/OAS: Template Builder - Addin using Office 365 Aug 1 Version 2407 (Build 17830.20138) (Doc ID 3041646.1)":

Currently the cause is unknown and is being evaluated by development under Bug 36947834

The BIP development team is currently evaluating the issue - in the meantime, as a workaround, please revert the patch back to the July 09 Version 2406 (Build 17726.20160).
