Interim Coverage Displays After Election Change to Decline (EOI Scenario)

Summary:

We have a Supplemental Life configuration where:

  • Elections above Guaranteed Issue (GI) require EOI
  • When a user elects above GI, the system assigns interim coverage at the next lower level (e.g., 2x salary) while the higher amount is pending approval

Scenario:

  1. Employee initially elects 5x salary (above GI)
    • System sets:
      • Requested = 5x (pending EOI)
      • Interim = 2x (active)
  2. Within the same enrollment window, employee returns and changes election to Decline
  3. On the summary page (before submitting), the interim coverage (2x) still displays, even though the current selection is Decline
