Advanced Partner Centre support cases

We are trying to set up Advanced Partner Centre roles to give some partners extended visibility of certain functions within our Netsuite instance.
We sell professional services (including IT Support) to partners with our end-customers ultimately being partners customers, not our own.
We have Partner records set and Customers belonging to those partners. We have given Advanced Partner Centre users access to 'Support' for case management.
The problem we are facing is we can't seem to extend visibility of the partners customers support cases. If we set the role restrictions to "Own and subordinates" the partner can only see cases created by members of the partner group, if we set restrictions to "none" the partner can see ALL support cases.
