using Netsuite for internal messaging?

Hi there…

I’m a little stuck on something wondering if anyone can help me out.

It seems that the only way I can find to give employees ability to use the messages tab to send internal email to each other is to give them ‘edit employees’ permission on the list tab of their role.
(they have access to send messages to customers/contacts)

I have created a custom form so any of the private information (removed the HR and Access tabs) is not accessible, but this permission unfortunately lets them edit the employee record, which I don’t want.
