Refreshing Sandbox account is required to get the latest values of the Production account. As the domain is not carried over in the Sandbox account after the refresh, all the SC configuration that is dependent on the domain will not be carried over. The SuiteCommerce Configuration record for a Domain determines how the application should work. After a sandbox refresh, you must set up domains in the sandbox.
These are some of the recommendations to avoid additional work in copying the content of the configuration one-by-one from Production to Sandbox.
A. Create a reference of the Production Extension Activation:
1. Login to the Production account
2. Navigate to Commerce > Extensions > Extension Manager
3. Take a note of the Theme and Extensions active on your Production Website and Domain
B. Activate the Theme and Extensions on your Sandbox Account:
1. Login to the Sandbox account
2. Navigate to Commerce > Extensions > Extension Manager
3. Click New Activation
4. Select your Website and Domain on the SELECT A WEB SITE and SELECT A DOMAIN fields respectively
5. Click Next
6. Go to the Themes subtab, Tick the checkbox beside the same theme used in your Production Extension Activation under the ACTIVE column. Use the information gathered on Step A as a reference.
7. Go to the Extensions subtab, Tick the checkbox beside the same extensions used in your Production Extension Activation under the ACTIVE column. Use the information gathered on Step A as a reference.
8. Click Activate
9. Wait for the Activation to complete
C. Create an initial SC Configuration record in Sandbox:
1. On your Sandbox account, navigate to Commerce > Websites > Configuration
2. Select your Website and Sandbox Domain on the SELECT WEBSITE and SELECT DOMAIN fields respectively
3. Click Configure
4. Click Save
D. Copy SC Configuration in the Production Account:
1. Login to the Production account
2. Navigate to Customization > List, Records, & Fields > Record Types
3. Look for SC Configuration
4. Click the List link on the List column of SC Configuration
5. Edit the SC Configuration of the website you want to copy
6. Copy the content of CONFIGURATION JSON field
E. Paste the SC Configuration to the Sandbox account:
1. Login to the Sandbox Account
2. Navigate to Customization > List, Records, & Fields > Record Types
3. Look for SC Configuration
4. Click the List link on the List column of SC Configuration
5. Paste the copied CONFIGURATION JSON (from Production) to the CONFIGURATION JSON field of the Sandbox website
6. Click Save
