New To NetSuite | How to Restrict Custom Fields for Specific Roles (View/Edit)
Custom fields have a lot of uses in NetSuite. Restricting access to these fields for certain roles can be very useful. Companies will find this valuable when there is a need for a custom field to only be edited or viewed by a specific custom role.
In this topic, we will cover how to restrict custom fields to certain roles.
Create your Custom Field:
1. Navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Body Fields > New
2. Set the following fields:
- Label: <Enter your field label here>
- Type: List/Record
- List/Record: Employee
- Store Value: Yes
Note: We’ll use a Custom List/Record field with the Employees as it’s values.
