Hello Community! Josh Maxwell, a User Experience Researcher for NetSuite Foundation has fun a question for you. Imagine for a moment that NetSuite had an assistant like Alexa or Siri. What would you ask of your NetSuite assistant? Use this survey link to share your top questions to the assistant.
Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing.
"Did I pay vendor John Doe last month?"
"Take me to my largest sales order for this month."
"What invoices haven't been paid yet?"

I used your RESULTS suggestions and my SS worked perfectly. I guess that I do not understand properly when to choose which item for Criteria and Results. It sure is confusing. I have 9 different attempts at this search and I tried a myriad of RESULTS mixtures using all the related fields. But I guess that I never tried the…

As you recommended, I used an Inventory Balance base saved search type. The two additional columns that I added were the base On Hand and Available. Here's what my current RESULTS submenu looks like. Those are the 2nd and 4th rows that have a SUMMARY TYPE of "SUM".

Sorry for the late reply, I had to get some sleep. Your suggestions have helped me make progress, but the SS is still not completely fixed. I removed my LOCATION criteria and added your suggested formula. It didn't really help as it added the LOCATION criteria for other locations that we need to exclude. I removed your…

I have tried the Inventory Balance search. As I wrote in my original question, I have tried all 4 types of Inventory Searches, Inventory Balance being one of them. I also tried the Item search type. You asked for Criteria and Results. I have tried the same Criteria and Results on all 4 types of Inventory searches and the…

Thanks for responding, Here's what my Criteria looks like And here are the Results As I mentioned earlier, I've tried the Criteria with and without the Main Line option. I've tried the Results with and without the Group & Sum Summary Types. There are no Highlighting or Available Filers. Thank you again for any advice that…

Thank you very much

Sorry, yesterday was super busy. I've read your suggestion to enable the Team Selling feature. Of course, that always makes me cringe as you never really know all the impacts caused by a new feature. We cannot afford a sandbox, so we typically wait to enable any major new features until a Release Preview becomes available…

Thanks for figuring this out. I don't know enough about NetSuite to understand why being "non-editable" means that a field can't be passed to the NetSuite UI. I was not planning on editing the fields, just having them in the NetSuite UI where they could be referenced. Thanks again.

Our Opportunity form looks slightly different from yours Here is ours. Therefore, we do not have any employees assigned to a Sales Team. Might we not have a feature turned on? However, we do have a Sales Rep field in the Main section of the Opportunity. Although we do not focus on differentiating sales by sales rep, I made…

Thanks for your patience as I just got to do more testing on this. I followed your guidance to " select the dates between today's date and the end of the month." No luck. Here is my test Opportunity Here is what the Pipeline by Status Summary report looks like What could I be doing wrong? Sorry, we do not do Estimates at…

Sorry for the delayed reply. I wanted to give the process a few days and see how it was working for us. So far, so good. Our PM fields are populating nicely. Please allow me to go back to the above directions to clarify a few things for non-experts like me: Jervin writes "Create a Custom Field". but he does not…

Sorry, I have another community issue that I'm working on that is taking a lot of my time. I'll get to this soon. Thanks for your patience

Jervin, That workflow was so far over my head, it's not even funny. Thank you for the detailed steps. It took me a few tries to make it all the way through your procedure, but now I think that your solution will work for us. In trying to go back and update the first week of June's timesheets, not all of the entries on an…

Tigran, I was following your guidance. The Transaction Line field is created. Then I got to: To overcome this Time Record limitation, you can populate the value of the custom field on a Time record via Workflow. In this case, you will "store" the value of the custom field, so it can be shown on a Timesheet Saved Search.…

Veronica, Thanks for all the good suggestions. Here's my outcomes: I set the Pipeline date from 4/1/2000 to 6/30/2025. Yes, we have Advanced Forecasting turned on although it does not appear that our Business Development people are using it. Just to ensure that I followed your guidelines completely, I created a brand new…

Thanks Patrick. As usual, you really know your stuff and gave me the solid, even if undesirable, answer that I needed. As you recommended, I submitted a SuiteIdea. Probably not much chance of it getting prioritized enough to get into Production. But it will hopefully save others the same frustration that I went through…

Interesting. I'd never before heard the concept of "two joins" and its limitations. Thanks for your two suggestions Rebuilding a TIME saved search is not a great option for us. We have been using this TIMESHEET saved search for a few years and it works great. We only want to add the one PM column to the results. I created…

Thanks for the good suggestion. That SuiteAnswer did not display for me when I used the search engine. Unfortunately, none of the suggestions seemed to work. I tried the following from the SuiteAnswer: Changed the Default Forecast Type from Omitted to Most Likely Unchecked the Use Quotes in Forecast Ensured that the…

Yes, JJS is using the Employee Center role. I tried to explain that in the 2nd sentence. NetSuite calls this a "Saved Time Search". The criteria looks like this: Here are the Results: There are also a few filters: Seems pretty simplistic but so are my NetSuite abilities.
-
Thank you Patrick. As usual, you are able to find the SuiteIdea that I cannot. That enhancement is just what I was asking for but was unable to find. It sure would be fun to sit in with the decision makers who have ignored this enhancement for 10 years and try to understand their reasoning. The fix seems so simple and…

Sorry for the slow reply. All of the notification emails went to my junk folder. Ely had the answer. Yes we use OneWorld. So I guess that SuiteAnswer 79197 will not work for us. Bummer. Would be great if someone could update that SuiteAnswer to add the OneWorld info. Will save others from trying to make it work like we…

I too cannot figure out how the EMPLOYEE "GIVE ACCESS" checkbox is exposed in a Saved Search. Unfortunately, that LOGIN ACCESS field does not seem to properly provide the status of the GIVE ACCESS checkbox on the EMPLOYEE Record (ACCESS subtab). Building a Saved Search with only two RESULTS columns Employee Name & Login…

Perfect!! I would never have thought to click on that little number (our test search only had 8 results). Thank you very much for the helpful response. Sure would be great if you could convince your bosses to add that little tip to the HELP module or SuiteAnswers. Thanks again.

Sorry, I was unavailable for a few days. I apologize for the late reply. Unfortunately, I am not able to see that EXPORT selection that you highlighted. Here's a screenshot from our instance using the Admin role. In fact, your choices look completely different than mine. I do not know if this matters, but you wrote "... I…

It would seem like you'd want to keep Income Taxes separate from Sales Taxes especially on that "Sales Tax Payment" screen. We're going to stick with the separate vendor for Income Taxes and keep the segregation of taxes clean. Thanks again.
-
Thanks Patrick, The SuiteAnswer also didn't really discuss our question, but your last comment did seem to answer what I needed to know. "... but normally in NetSuite, Sales Taxes are remitted to Tax Agencies..." I hope that was your way of telling me "in the USA, don't use the Tax Agency vendors to record anything other…
-
Thanks for responding Clarisa, I will try to keep this as simple as possible. Income Tax is not related to Payroll Taxes or Sales Taxes. I'm not sure where you are located, but I'll explain based on the United States rules. In the USA, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires all individuals & companies to pay tax on…
-
Yes, Camille provided a good explanation of how SALES TAX works in NetSuite. However, the person was asking about how INCOME TAX works. That is a completely different subject and NetSuite must handle it completely differently. As far as I can tell, you do not use the Tax Agency vendor. It would be nice if a moderator could…

Oh.... I am well aware of SuiteAnswer 95187. Yes, we received an email. There was no mention of rescheduling the maintenance. Thus my frustrated plea for some relief from NetSuite's unwavering strictness on update schedules. Patrick, you are ALWAYS very helpful. But on this one, I think that you have no control. I did not…
-
Patrick, On your suggestion about "Logging on as Administrator, do you have access to Customer-Scheduled Maintenance under Set Up > Company > Customer-Scheduled Maintenance does it have a button for Reschedule" That is what I was trying to say in my point #2. "2) "Routine Maintenance" no longer seems to be one of the…
