NetSuite says this is an enhancement request 137791. How can an obvious defect be an enhancement request. If a customer needs their authorization cancelled, they need to be able to do so.
-
I believe you can void the authorization directly from your paypal account. I found this link. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/store/order/paypal/paypal-12.html I hope this helps. Maria, Thank you for the post. I believe the link provided shows the Yahoo Store functionality; this is NOT PayPal functionality.…

I have the exact same issue. One of our customers made a duplicate order, and wanted one cancelled. I closed the sales order on the NetSuite side, but the authorization isn't cancelled. It's not an enhancement - this problem ties up funds on the customer's CC or PayPal account. Agreed, only solution is to call PayPal.…
-
Did this ever get resolved? No - we hired a NetSuite consultant to create code so we can cancel the PayPal authorization from the Sales Order form.
-
No, I'm trying to refund ANY PayPal transaction within the 30 days. It is my understanding that you cannot do a PayPal refund from within Netsuite. You must go to PayPal and enter it there. One other Netsuite customer confirmed this behavior.

The final answer on this is rather complex. PayPal Express Checkout uses a three step process: 1) Order 2) Authorization 3) Delayed Capture 1) The Order is a "permission" to charge - Expires in 29 days and cannot be renewed. This does NOT place a hold on customer funds. 2) The Authorization is a "PayPal Assured" permission…

...when I previously spoke to a lady at PayPal, she said we can only go up to 115 % over the order total... I believe the 15% is capped at $75.00 USD. For example, if you have an order for $1000, the max increase would be $75.00 for a total of $1075. ($1150 not $150)

As an update to this thread: 1) When you log into PayPal to see a transaction, you see an "Order" and an "Authorization" 2) The order will show if the address is confirmed 3) The authorization will show if the order has Seller Protection enabled. 4) You can see the "Seller Protection" enabled ship to address on the…

NetSuite case: 634222 If you are using PayPal Express checkout, you do not know whether the transaction is covered under PayPal Seller Protection. NetSuite should create an enhancement request to allow us to force PayPal Express Checkout to behave like standard PayPal where the money is captured at time of checkout. This…

This is NetSuite Case 634222. When I go into PayPal.com and look at a transaction created via PayPal Express Checkout, there is no reference to "PayPal Seller Protection". I have a case open with PayPal.com as to why this is not showing up. My contact there says it should absolutely be there. PayPal is researching this and…

Doug, Thank you for clearing these points. This express checkout is a very different concept. But in 2-3 years, it will be the only way to receive payment over the internet.
-
Any update on PayPal Express? Scratch that, it is on now Setup | Accounting | PayPal Processing Follow directions there. It appears to me that if the customer already has an account and they used an alternate payment method previously, they cannot use PayPal Express checkout. Anyone else believing this to be true?

I have had this issue open for months now. Is this an issue with PayPal or PayPal Express. It sounds from the "open for months" that the issue you describe is with PayPal proper. Is it regular PayPal?
-
D.J., Ah, now I get it. All, We received our first PayPal Express Checkout yesterday. The best part: the discount fees and transaction fees will be refunded by PayPal for the next 9 months! Very Cool.
-
D.J., Is there a specific time today that this will be enabled? Is there any documentation?
-
Update from the PayPal side. The "Seller Protection" will NOT show up until the funds are captured. Therefore doing an authorization then capture at a later date will NOT display this information until after you capture. The PayPal people are trying to determine if there is any way on their end that they can force a single…

Any update on PayPal Express?

I prefer PayPal PayPro Flow. There are some minor challenges but the benefits are great.

...Do you have to set up a payflo pro account? Website payflow pro does not let you set-up a user name ID it only lets you set-up a API usename and password and then has a third data. Help!!! I am so frustrated. I am not entirely sure what it is you are trying to setup? 1) Payflow Pro Credit Card Processing 2) Standard…

Thomas, Thank you for the feedback. We have been on "PayPal Website Payments Pro" for a month. So far so good, they are delivering what they promised.
-
I am not sure where you are seeing these: 1) What is the Merchant User ID? - I did not get one when I signed up for PayPal Website Payments Pro. 2) What is the Paypal User ID? Is this the same User ID that I sign into Paypal. basicly the e-mail address I am using. 3) What is the paypal password? Again is this the password…

...Should I have created a PayFlow pro account instead? or is this an addon to the PayPal account? I called PayPal merchant services and they are not aware of the discounted rate that I'm reading about here (I'm getting 2.9%, plus .30 transaction fee). They also told me that I didn't need the PayFlow Pro account, because…

Edwin, When I setup our Payflow Pro Account (PayPal Merchant accont), I did Setup | Accounting | Credit Card Processing Then I clicked "Add Payflow Pro Account" I followed the directions on that page.
-
As a note, PayPal has provided an email stating we are locked at 2.2% and have no reserve. It will be interesting to see what happens.
-
Thomas, Thank you for the information. May I ask how long you have been with PayPal Website Payments Pro?

I thought AVS zip code check only looked at the 5-digit zip code. A "x" response means the issuing bank does not support AVS checking. Bill Sorry, I got confused with Authorize.net. A.net provides one field for AVS code. In A.net, X means Address (Street) and 9 digit ZIP match 9 digit match is really cool but not…

Tim, Every business is different. Credit card process is at best a nightmare. I would suggest you contact a profession who understands the world of credit cards and understand NetSuite. I would recommend Nick at Axeus.com. Nick's email is nhorowitz@axeus.com.

So, does the customer finish their payment in PayPal and not in NS? Does the customer ever make it to the NS "Thank You for Your order" web page? We keep our conversion scripts on the "Thank You" order completion page. -Tom Tom, It is rather perplexing. I just got my mortgage refinanced through PayPal and my kids student…

Tom, 1) Have you used the standard PayPal interface? -- the manage.paypal.com looks very much like that. In addition, you get get to everything in normal paypal.com too. To my knowledge you cannot search by NetSuite order number but you can do last name, etc. 2) I have not seen any statements in the mail. Support has been…
