I won't name any names but my Oracle reps have told me that they are not going to make any enhancements to Classic dashboards anymore and they are going to focus only on DV enhancements.

This is probably not an approved solution by Oracle since they are trying to get rid of OBIEE (Classic) dashboards but I have gone with a hybrid approach. I create my DV report and put each canvas as a page on a classic dashboard. I then create a classic dashboard prompt using the same dataset and also put that on the…

I agree that this is a must have feature. The only way around this is to rebuild the dataset from scratch against the different databases. We need to be able to develop in DEV against a non-prod database then promote that dataset to production and swap out the connection to use the prod database. Otherwise, Oracle is…

This would be an ideal metric to track. Other tools provide this solution.

Why did you take this functionality away?
-
I love this idea. I never thought about this but it would be really powerful

Why did Oracle create a "better" tool and take away functionality in the process?
-
This is a must for me. I'm using a workaround in the meantime by embedding DV content into classic dashboards but that is a maintenance nightmare. The current OAC homepage is useless if there's no rhyme or reason to what shows up and where.

Agreed. If we have to write anything in SQL, then what' the purpose of the tool. 99% of my users do not know the SQL workarounds. This is supposed to be a tool for end users.

I also would not like DV Authors not to be able schedule anything either. The automation of dataflows should go through the BI Admin(s). Someone can schedule a big dataflow to run in the middle of the day impacting performance of other users. Also, scheduling something means it's "productionalized" but has that report been…

This would also be extremely helpful when creating a Union. I love the idea for creating folders similar to the RPD.

Even better, why can't we use basic controls like Ctrl C. We also can only copy and paste within the project. I want to copy something in a project and paste in an email or something. This functionality needs included

The point made where admins should always be granted full control is the easiest solution. Not only would an admin not be able to support it, they wouldn't even know it exists. Where's the traceability/accountability here? It's set up to be the wild west here. This should not only exist for Datasets. It should be for all…
