Employee IDs

edited Sep 21, 2020 1:30PM in SuitePeople HR / US Payroll 4 comments

As you're all aware, out of the box NetSuite has the First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name populate as the "Employee ID" on the employee record.  There is the ability to enable the "auto-numbering" functionality on employee records for IDs, but some people have advised against it.  Is anyone using that field for ID numbers rather than having it be a copy of the Name fields?

I am aware that once you enable auto-numbering that employees will now show up in the search bar as "## First Middle Initial Last Name" (ex: 000123 Bob L Smith).  Other than that, any issues?

Howdy, Stranger!
