Avalara Certificate Capture from within NetSuite.

edited Feb 1, 2022 5:54PM in Accounting / ERP 4 comments

Right now, every customer that doesn't want to pay taxes has to contact us before ordering and then we have to send them an Avalara link. Then they can upload their certificate from within the linked page and then return to our site to finish the order.

What makes it worse is that many customers go ahead and order and then email us to remove taxes after we've processed their order. We've found we can't remove taxes without deleting their old order and starting over. Has anyone found a better approach to removing taxes when using Avalara?

My main question is: Has anyone managed to make it capture the customer's tax certificate from within NetSuite and then NetSuite sends the tax info to Avalara? Or, has anyone made a link that can go to Avalara Certificate Capture from the cart and the link has info to auto-fill the customer info so that the customer can self-help in this process and then get returned to the cart as a tax-exempt customer?

Howdy, Stranger!
