Set {today} in a custom date/time field with client trigger on Workflow

Hi. I tried to set the current date in a custom date/time field via workflow.

It seems to work only with AFTERSUBMIT/BEFORESUBMIT functions,

but not with a client trigger such as "Before user Submit".

I tried also formulas as {today} or {now}, but it doesn't work,

I even converted the field to a text field and used the TO_CHAR() function to set the date and time as text, but didn't suceed.

Any other idea?
