NSC | How to create a Saved Search for Project Tasks with higher Actual hours than Planned

Scenario:

User wants to create a Saved Search for Project Tasks with higher actual hours than planned in which helps them identify potential project budget overheads. This will allow them to make timely adjustments to resource allocation and timelines, ensuring such tasks to stay on track and within budget.

Solution

Note: User is using Planned Work, this field is not adjusted when work is tracked outside the original fixed plan.

1.) Navigate to Reports>List > Search > Saved Searches > New

2.) Select Project Task

3.) Under Criteria, select Formula (Numeric) and add the formula:

Formula: {actualwork}-{plannedwork}

Formula (Numeric): greater than

Value: 0

4.) In the Results tab, in addition to the existing and desired fields, user can add the following field which represents the difference between the Actual work (hours) and Planned Time:
