Is there an option to change the default naming of Transaction PDF Email Attachments?

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:31PM in Ask A Guru 3 comments

When you generate an email from a transaction and tick the box to include the transaction as a PDF, NetSuite typically creates the file with the name of:

[transactiontype]_[internalid]

Is there any way to configure this differently?

Not only is the internal ID a totally irrelevant number (as far as the customer is concerned), but it also doesn't take into account any transaction type changes made in the main NetSuite UI - for example we have Estimates renamed to 'Quotes'. Not only is Quote the more normal term used in the UK, an Estimate has a totally different meaning (i.e. an 'Estimate' is not confirmed / guaranteed / accurate, the prices may change, whereas a 'Quote' is a confirmation and 'promise' of the price to be paid).
