Hello Community! Josh Maxwell, a User Experience Researcher for NetSuite Foundation has fun a question for you. Imagine for a moment that NetSuite had an assistant like Alexa or Siri. What would you ask of your NetSuite assistant? Use this survey link to share your top questions to the assistant.
Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing.
"Did I pay vendor John Doe last month?"
"Take me to my largest sales order for this month."
"What invoices haven't been paid yet?"

Thanks Ivy that works, I think I got hung up thinking it would be the "location" field and not "inventory location". That solves it all!

Ivy, Thanks for the response, I suspected as much. John, Thanks, that's what I currently have to do, but obviously not ideal when there are lots of products. Currently I'm working on an a tricky spreadsheet to try and give me the answers with that exported BOM. I'm also relying on a saved search of the BOM revisions tied…

This worked wonderfully, thank you Ivy!

Ivy, rereading your last message, I realized what you meant about manufacturing operations joining fields. I can put them on the saved search but I'll get every operation for every work order, I'm not sure how I could reduce it to either last completed operation or next operation.
-
Hey Ivy, certainly! Here ya go. I haven't tried the Manufacturing Operation Task joining fields, I'm not quite sure what that is, can you explain a little bit? This is basically showing my in progress and open work orders to be done. Thanks Ivy!
-
Awesome Ivy! this was exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much for your help!!!
-
Hey Ivy, I didn't see you had replied until now, thanks for the followup! I can try and give you a screenshot or two, but in the meantime I think a better way to explain it is, I'd like to get the projected value that you find on a work order completion, of a work order to be completed. I'm looking to see the value of my…

Hey Ivy thanks for the reply! I think I can make it work. My plan right now is to collate it outside of NEtsuite in a spreadsheet and assign it that way. Here's to hoping it works, if it does I'll report back here so that others may try if they need it.
-
Awesome, thanks so much Ivy, very much appreciated!

Ah "actual Ship/Receipt Date" did the trick it looks like. Thanks! Follow-up for the future... Do you know and why it gives 2 lines each time on a work order issue how to differentiate between positive and negative quantities on it? My work-around has been to filter by financial account, but that seems... wrong in some…

Here is my search so far. The date field is the date the W/O or P/O was created, not the date the line was fulfilled. The due date/receive by is the date it supposed to be here, but again, not the date the line came in. I can't seem to find the field that shows when the transaction actually occured.

Thanks for the reply Ivy, I have one team that issues components and is responsible for inventory and then a production team that builds the product so unfortunately the alternate solution won't work. I checked our settings and indeed that is how the system is supposed to operate. I'll check out the enhancement and the…

Thanks Ivy for checking on this! Followup question, is the date on a supply chain snapshot visible? Or is that the same date as the one above? If it is visible where is it located? Thanks!

@Ivy Lopez-Oracle Hey Ivy thanks so much for this! This is perfect and exactly what I was looking for... For my own knowledge, is there a place where I can read about the different types of inventory saved searches and when to use each of them? I have a hard time know when to use an inventory/bin numbers search versus an…

Yes you are mostly correct. We do the return on a product level as we need to capture the costing of the product, and then have to break it down into those components, some of which we don't get back with the original return. The rest of your understanding is correct though. We receive product back, dissassemble into…
