Put All Announcements inside of the "Announcements" Forum Folder

You may want to consider putting all announcements, like the new "2010.1 Preview Release" announcement, inside of the "Announcements" folder. This will help make sure all User Group members who have subscribed to new posts in the "Announcements" forum receive notification of a new announcement.

Otherwise, many people may be unaware of your new announcement.
