Custom records' permissions and restricting drop downs
Hi All,
I have a problem with restricting items (custom records) on drop downs. Let me explain the issue based on following simplified example. I have two custom records:
- Test parent
- Test child
and two roles:
- HR Role
- IT Role
Parent record (Test parent) has a field named Department which has a 'List/Record' type with a chosen 'Departments' custom list.
I would like to restrict the drop down on the 'Test child' form to show only records from the 'Test parent' which have the 'Department' field suitable for the role of current user. I've created two saved searches for the 'Test parent' record type for both roles:
