Transition Workflow if Today = 5/31/11

I want a workflow to transition to the last state if the day that the transition triggers is 5/31/11.

I tried setting a criteria for transition to be {today} = 5/31/2011

It didn't work.  Anyone know how to do this?

(Why am I doing this?  We have a 4 email drip marketing campaign.  The last email sends an email saying "Today is the Last Day of the Sale".  I want all states to transition to the last state on 5/31/11 to send this email.)
