is it possible to trigger a workflow from a document upload?

Hello fellow NetSuite developers.  I have a problem I was hoping someone might be able to help me with, I have a custom record type called Documents.  This record type has a field of the document type and fields describing various attributes of the attached document for reference in NetSuite.  I need to change some of these fields behind the scenes if someone uploads either a new file into the document field or a new version of the document.  What I'm looking for is a way to kick off a workflow based on uploading a document into a field of
