Is there any way to know if the item is a member of a kit?

Hi,

Is there any way to know if the item is a member of a kit?
we are facing the following problem:
If we change a member price or weight, we should edit the price and weight for each kit where the item is a member of.

Is there anyway to create a saved search contains Items which are members of kits and add an alert to notify someone if price and weight changed, and add in the notification the kits that are the item is a member of... This will be great if it is doable. It will solve many issues for us
