Outlook Integration

Anybody had good experience with NS-Outlook integration?   Our organisation has been reluctant to move forward due to security concerns.  We have also been told that NS has had some serious problems with Outlook integration in the past and their new Outlook integration endeavours have been delayed at least until the end of 2010. Are there any workarounds that have worked or might possibly work?
