What's the best way to handle item specifications
I'm struggling with the best way to handle engineering specifications for my items. We have many different types of items (ie relays, connectors, motors), each type has a different set of specifications that apply to it. Example:
Relays
Voltage
Current
Suppression Type
etc.
Connectors
Number of positions
Sealed/unsealed
Pull Out Force
etc.
Motor
Voltage
Speed
Torque
etc.
Keeping in mind both the interface for internal user and the website user, what's the best way to go about setting up the item records?
I could simply add all specification fields to all items, and then leave blank those that don't apply. And I'm fairly certain in the website I could only show specs that are not empty. But this will make for an ugly internal interface.
