Merging custom record = "Invalid Record Type"

I can't merge templates with custom records as of this morning.
EVERYTHING HAS COME TO A STANDSTILL!

Has anyone else experienced problems doing fax merges with custom records?

I have confirmed that merging with different templates, with different records, from the UI and from SuiteScript all result in this error.

(NetSuite is editing my posts now without saying anything!)
