Odd Errors in the last hour (with Item Receipts and Inventory Adjustments)

Is anyone else seeing unusual errors?  Just heard from users about several issues that occurred in the last hour:

1) Upon trying to save an Item Receipt around 1:30pm EST, user received Error, "Record does not exist".  15 min. later, I went in and was able to successfully save the IR.

2) Around 1:40pm EST, user tried to save an inventory adjustment dated in October (which is not yet closed for us) - received Error, "You cannot change the G/L impact of a transaction in a closed period."

anyone have any insight on this?
