Item still displaying with "Display in Website" unchecked

I have a couple of items on our site which are marked to not display in website but remain on the page. After clicking on the item it displays "This item is no longer available" My initial assumption was that it would take a while to populate   or that my browser was cached out, but this was done a few days ago and I have check on several computers. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
