Saved search email alerts run every time any transaction takes place in NetSuite

I've noticed that many of my saved searches that trigger email alerts have execution logs that are so full of entries that the execution log page itself takes forever to load and, once loaded, slows down my entire computer. Any particular saved search will show as running nearly every minute in the execution log. According to the execution logs, it appears that every one of my saved search alerts is being run any time anyone creates any transaction in our NetSuite account (whether it's related to that particular search or not).

NetSuite's own help says this about when the execution log should be updated:
