Adding/Changing Netsuite Backend Search Box

Several of our salespeople have requested that they be able to use the global search in the back end of NS to find products in the same manner that a customer does from the front end. I have checked the use keywords option under set preferences but it didn't seem to help much. 

I'm sure NS doesn't want us poking around with their global search but that's alright. If I can add a secondary search box to the back end somewhere that would satisfy the sales people.

Has anyone had this request and found a suitable workaround? Or is it even possible to add a snip of HTML to the back end?
