Linkage between Transfer Order Line and Item Receipt Line

Ok, I'm struggling here.

Is there a 'linkage' on an Item Receipt Line to indicate which line its associated with back on the original Transfer Order?  (This question could be broader, but let's stick with this specific use case).

I thought that the 'orderline' value on the Item Receipt equalled the 'line' on the original transaction ... but I'm seeing cases with that isn't true.

Anyone got an insight on this?
