Initiate Workflow from Campaign?

Hi All,

Workflow question here...

We'd like to send an email blast and have a workflow to send drip emails based on the lead's actions (unopened, open or click through). 

What's the best option here?

#1 - Marketing Campaign -> Workflow

Should we setup a regular ole marketing campaign and then setup the workflow to processes the lead's actions and respond accordingly? Is this even possible?

#2 - All inside Workflow

Make State #1 to blast the email to a saved search and then State #2 would be follow up email, etc. Is this even possible? If so, how do we set the timing (date and time) of the first email blast?
