Drag and Drop for File Cabinet View?

Hi,

Does the new drag and drop bundle work directly in the file cabinet view?  It looks like I need to choose a record type to deploy the feature but no way to make it work for just uploading files directly to the file cabinet.  This would be really handy when working with lots of web site files. 

Advice is much appreciated.
