Sum of Multiple Numeric Fields

I'm kind of a NetSuite newbie, so I'm hoping that someone can help me with what SHOULD be a pretty simple issue:

I have a number of numeric fields that I'll be using to gather sales information - however, my final report only requires the total of sets of these fields.  I've checked through the help guide for a formula to simply total up the fields, but it seems to only do complex math? 

Basically, I'm hoping someone has a nice little way to say "take Field A, Field B, and Field C, and put the sum of those fields into Field D."
